TEACHING STATEMENT
My favorite teaching quotes
“Great teachers are not just ones who transmit information, teach skills, and help students earn the best grades. They are those who share their passion for knowledge and curiosity with their students, inspire the students’ creativity, develop their critical thinking ability, and prepare them for the complex world they will face after stepping off-campus”.
I believe that part of my vocation is to be a teacher. Therefore, I view my contributions to the education of students not as a job but as a part of my life. My job description lists my responsibilities as 40% teaching, 50% research, plus 10% service, but it is because of the teaching and the service that I left the industry for academia. The teaching is especially important as it imparts knowledge to others. My pursuit of higher education and being an academician is partly due to several teachers who have inspired me and taught me the necessary skills to achieve these goals. Now I would like to join their ranks and be a catalyst for others to fulfil their dreams.
